Is registration essential?

Yes. Take a look at the Registration page.

Where's the start?

The London rides leave Hyde Park Corner at the stroke of midnight. We meet underneath Constitution Arch. Please arrive by 11.30 to sign in, take part in the safety talk and exchange nervous smiles with new riders. The York to Hull ride leaves York Minster at midnight and the Cardiff to Swansea ride leaves the Millenium Basin at midnight.

Am I fit enough?

Probably. We've members of all ages up to their seventies, all shapes and sizes and all abilities and none. Some of our rides are tougher than others. If you're in any doubt e-mail fnrttc@yahoo.co.uk and ask.

Will I be left behind?

No. The FNRttC is a broad church with cyclists of varying speeds and abilities. Our wonderful Tail End Charlies will accompany the slowest riders and help with mechanicals and punctures. The front of the ride waits for the tail to catch up every few miles.

Will I get lost?

No. Our Wayfinders wait at junctions pointing to the road ahead.

What kind of bike do I need?

Any kind, but it has to be serviceable. We've seen road bikes, tourers, hybrids, tandems, trikes, recumbents, MTBs and a penny farthing.

How will I get back home?

A few lost souls ride home, but most FNRttCers take the train. We've never had any trouble getting people on to trains.

How much does it cost?

You'll need some money for refreshments at the halfway point, and money for breakfast. You'll need your trainfare home, but most of our destinations will let you purchase Groupsave tickets. You have to have third party insurance, which can cost as little as £16 for twelve months from the CTC, and you have to be a member of The Fridays, which costs £2 for a calendar year.
